In reply to Jessica (Coco/Mingo). I agree about stepping away from larger blogs, generally because it gives me an idea to create my own trends. It's hard to avoid seeing blogs that all are designed the same but being unique helps you stand out.

In order to o find true voice in you, creators shouldn’t be afraid to experiment different styles! and uniqueness is such a great self-brand 🙂

Great interview. When it comes to both fashion & design, I don’t follow trends. Sure, it’s great to know them.. but trends tend to be fads. I’ve never been into fads. I go for timeless, whether in the way I dress.. or in the way I design. I’ve always lived by way of KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid.) and made sure that shows through all my work. Functionality comes first time me. If “because it looks pretty” is the reason to the “why” — it need not be there. I like for everything to have it’s purpose.

I’m loving the latest trends as it’s making it’s way towards my design aesthetic. I’ve always been flat & minimal when people were using gradients and drop shadows like no one’s business. I always argued that sure the design may be great, but you’ve put a timestamp on it. But that was everyone following that design trend at the current time.

My whole outlook on everything in life is screw what other people are doing. If you keep doing you long enough, everyone will want to do you, too.
